As the sun set on a another beautiful day in Paris everything seemed fine. Minister Mannette and his staff were visiting for business and a public appearance. Mannette was doing well in matters that dealt with the world but things on the inside were not quite so well. The French people, not satisfied with the death of the King and Queen, where still hungry for blood. When the clock struck midnight the beginning of the largest coup known to history began to take place. A continual string of political assassinations spread throught the night and well into the next day. By the end of the second day every major political figure had been "dealt" with. The French people feel it is time for a new way and a new leader. They are calling on a real leader to take the reigns and hopefully save France from what they feel is imminent war and destruction. Charles de Gaul has answered the people's call and getting on task with homeland and foreign changes.

"Prime Minister de Gaul Answers the People's Call" was the headline of the paper when de Gaul returned to France. He was pleased that he had formed a new ally and that his people were happy. Now that France has one less over seas area to worry about PM de Gaul can focus on other demands of the people.
His only regret is that his out reaches to his English Ally have gone unanswered. "It will be hard for the French people to not view this as a direct insult should it make it to the public." de Gaul said aloud. Hopefully the English will reply soon before such an event occurs.

September 15, 1940 - Sunday Paris, France Weekly News Report
PM de Gaul sat down at his desk to read his usual news paper. The cover read, "Your Tax Money at Work" the cover story was about the 1st Airborne Army training the Sahara Desert.
"French paratroopers have been hard at work learning new tatics in the desert." Much to de Gaul's approval the paper fully dipected the intese training that the troops were undergoing in the desert. The article further discribed the mock cities that the men were attacking and practicing extracting high profile peronel from potenial danger zones. Also, it covered how this new method of using French soilders would be effective in future military events.
de Gaul was very pleased with this because it was good news for the French people. Their tax dollars were being put to good use and it ment that the nation's military strength was still on the rise, another good thing for France.
The PM sipped his Brandy and smiled, "Things are good for France. Lets hope they stay this way."

September 21, 1940 - Sunday Paris, France Weekly News Report
"Alliance With United Kingdom Ends" was the hot story for this week's paper. de Gaul new that this would come about after the failure of the British PM to deliver a timely response. The only good news from the whole ordeal was that the people were backing his decision. While no one wants to loose an ally they were proud that he stood up for his country even if it meant arguing with a much more powerful nation.
In spite of all this things will be in the slumps for a while. Due to this income from trades will significantly reduce and relations could get even worse. The next few weeks of diplomacy will play a big role in the future allies of Europe and the rest of the world.
"I only hope that things can still turn out for the best of France." de Gaul remarked.
He then put the paper away and got to business on the numerous incoming telegrams.
