Reichstag; Berlin, Germany.
May 1st, 1940.
Peter von Kruger glanced at the map in his office and smiled. There was every reason for him to smile as well. Germany was whole again once more. Having peacefully taken back Austria, Czechoslovakia, and the Rhineland they had regained what was theirs. While having to go to war in Poland to regain their land there, the military might of the German Wehrmacht had crushed the Poles in little under three weeks. Now they were part of the German Empire, though Peter had given back most of their land so that they could rule themselves. He was currently working on a plan to do the same with the Czechs.
Then there had been the wars. The small war with Britain that could have turned into a massive undertaking had instead stopped aver about a month and Germany gaining the Island of Malta in the Med. Peter smiled at that and once more thanked Lieutenant General Kurt Student for his genius in coming up the idea of using the paratroopers. The small war with Belgium had yielded some gain to the Germans though not much, which the people of Germany were starting to make a fuse over. Then of course there was the war with Russia. Almost all of Europe had gathered together to topple the Russians and restore order in the East. Now ten to fifteen new nations were slowly coming into their own and Germany was there to help them.
Peter sighed as he looked at his watch, he had a meeting with his foreign minister who was to bring him up to date on the situation with the new Nations. He reluctantly put on his jacket, he was still not used to wearing civilian cloths instead of his uniform, and walked out of his office towards the meeting room. Immediately he was taken under escort, four large mean looking German Paratroopers walking in front of him and behind him. He didn't mind it to much and they had already saved his life twice in the past six months. Once we Russian commandos had tried to kill him and the other when members of the Gestapo had tried. *Heh the Gestapo.. don't have to be afraid of them that much anymore.*
In October of 39 Peter had, had to attack and all but destroy the Gestapo and other SS elements that still believed in Nazism. Mostly over his policy of releasing the Jewish population from the Camps. Peter had gone to a couple of the camps and the conditions there had sickened him. But now things were better. Jews were readily excepted in most circles and were helping Germany continue to grow. Already the economy was flourishing under the brilliant guide of Albert Spear, who with much from the Jews was turning Germany into a first class country.
He arrived at the door to the meeting room and quickly entered. Inside he was greeted by two men, Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop and Vice-Foreign Minister Konstantin von Neurath. "Greetings Gentlemen, shall we begin?"
"Yes Mein Fuhrer." Joachim replied first. "How are you doing today if I may ask?"
"Quite well Joachim, considering where we stand in the world quite well."
"It is quite a reversal of our situation not a couple of years ago, Mein Fuhrer." Konstantin spoke up.
"Most indeed good Konstantin. So tell me, how do things go in the East?" Peter said sitting down at the table.
Joachim nodded and sat as well. "Well Mein Fuhrer good and bad is the best way to put it. We have completed our pull out of the Russian Proper and have left the situation to the Russians themselves, though many of the people are not to trilled with Puskov and consider him a traitor."
*Aye yes Puskov, quite an interesting man.* Sergei Puskov was now leading the nation of Russia, after defecting to the Allied cause after a disastrous campaign in Romania. Peter smiled at that, still awe struck that the smaller nation had held out.
"There is a real possibility of a Civil War braking out any day now." Konstantin added.
"I plan on meeting with the Military later today to discuss plans if things spill over out of Russia. What is the situation in the Ukraine?"
"Ah going well there Mein Fuhrer. President Skrevski is well liked by his people and is putting his people to work in restoring the damage done to his country."
"What's the situation with their military?" Peter asked, curious.
"Slowly being organized Mein Fuhrer. Though I do hear that they are getting along fine with our advisers there." Joachim replied.
With the victory of Russia and the shattering of the Soviet Union, many countries had no military what to speak of and with the situation in the balance at the moment that was not a good thing. Thus Germany had stepped up to help out and set up the Armed Forces of the new nations, and now had hundreds of men and woman in other countries at work. "Very good, continue."
"I am afraid to report though the situation in the former Southern Republics is not going well." Konstantin started, his smile disappearing. "It seems the Armenians and Azerbaijan are yelling and screaming over the Nagorno Karabakh region and could turn to all out war."
"What kinda of military forces do each have?" Peter asked, with a voice of concern.
"Mostly what is left of the Russian Transcaucasus Military District." Konstantin answered.
"I see. Should we begin plans to dispatch forces to the region? With war threatening there, I do not doubt that Turkey might be planning to take advantage of the situation."
Turkey was a major problem now. They had allied themselves with Russia and thus were still considered enemies of Germany, though Germany hadn't engaged in any operations against them at all. Now they controlled all of Iran and a major source of Oil, which was mainstay to a military nation.
"I would bring it up with the Military yes my Fuhrer, though we might want to talk to the other nations in the Alliance as well."
"Agreed. Joachim when does the next Alliance meeting take place?"
"Three days my Fuhrer. Here in Berlin this time, though I am not sure who all will be arriving as of yet." Joachim replied.
"Very well. Any other situations I need to know about?"
"There is still the Irish situation with England. Ireland still wanting their land back."
Yes Ireland. They had sent troops to assist in the war against Russia and in return Germany had helped supply them with arms. Now the old question of would Ireland get their land back was back in the forefront. "We will discuss this at the meeting with the Irish delegation when they arrive."
"Aye my Fuhrer. If I may ask, do you plan on doing anything with the Netherlands? The last rally here was quite large.." Joachim said, softly.
Peter smirked and nodded. Every other day there was a rally for Germany to "Avenge the Travesty of the Netherlands" and the last one had been over 50,000 people. Peter sighed. "I am not sure Joachim. It's a very delicate situation, we really have no reason to go to war with them and I would rather not at this time. But if the people keep calling for it.. I just don't know."
"I understand Mein Fuhrer. I do believe that is all we have for you at this time."
"Very well, I will let you two get back to your business as I have no doubt you are quite busy. Good day Gentlemen and good job." With that Peter got up and left the room, picking up his escort he slowly made his way back to his office thinking the whole time.
