HMAS Australia Agean Sea May 1st 1940
This was General Lamont Cranston's second trip to Gallipoli in His Majesty's Royal Australian Army, he had vowed to some higher power that this time he would be there to stay. The Royal Australian Navy was about to start a two hour bombardment of the enemy coastal positions before launching the Infantry attack on the Peninsula. The feeling was momentous, the AIF had been preparing since the war began for a landing on Turkish soil. The Landing wouldn't be easy, the enemy had advantage in terrian and they would be determined to hold thier ground, however, the AIF may very well be more determind to take the Turks ground, and force them back to Constantinople. The Aussies weren't taking tanks along, they didn't have them and the terrian made them damned near useless, it was going to be a bitter battle between infantry.
The General checked his watch, it was a minute before the inital barrage and he could almost taste the anticipation in the air. Everything about this time said it would go in their favor, the Turks had to split their forces between the English, the Jerries and the Frenchies, every nation was going to push into Turkey for their own reasons, mostly it had to do with their unwarranted attack on the Frenchies, part of it was that they were friends with the Reds, but for Australia it was something special, they were going to reclaim part of their national honor and show the world that the Australians weren't to be trifled with. He checked his watch again, ten seconds. He turned to his aide, "Alright Mates, it's about to start in five, four, three, two, one, now. His voice was drowned out by the sound of Naval Artillery.

Peninsula of Gallipoli, Turkey. Morning of May 2nd, 1940.
Major General Selâniki Evren looked out from his position on what had been known as Scimitar Hill during the last war and sighed. *So they are returning here after all..*
Selâniki had come up from Bigali when word had been received of ships spotted of the coast. Now it looked like the 7th Infantry Division was about to take the brunt of the Alliance or Allied attack. *Ha! They don't even know what to call themselves this time around.*
He watched as shells impacted along the beach area and smirked. "Not as heavy as it was the first time around.."
"You where here the first time sir?" asked Major Abdullah Erdogan.
"Yes. Right at around here actually.. have the coastal artillery engage. Lets see if we can cause these bastards some damage."
"Aye General. All the guns?'
Selâniki shook his head. "No just two batteries, the rest are to wait for when they close on the beaches."
"Aye General."
A few minutes later eight 155mm Howitzers roared into life, firing on the ships off the coast of Turkey, as Turkish Infantry waited to try and stop the invasion.

Minor losses from the costal bombardment is affected to the Turkish, but a 155mm shell strikes the HMAS Vampire, damaging her somewhat. The rest of the shells miss mostly because they have not zero'd on their targets, so naturally they're off, but the same can be said about the guns on the Australian ships.
The Turkish take somewhere around 1 to 2% losses on one division.
((I need to know classes of the ships. This time around, since you know, deal out the damage that would be caused by a 155mm shell slamming into it))

HMAS Australia May 1st 1940
Captain Jack Harolds swore as the 155mm Artillery began raining down on the ships. He watched as the HMAS Vampire took a hit. The Artillery round smashed the hull of the Destroyer and she began to list to her port side. She was hit bad but not out of the fight.
"Damn, we won't last long under that kind of Artillery Bombardment. Have our boys return fire, we'll blow that fortress to hell." He didn't like where this battle was going, they had to go in without Air Support, the Royal Navy was sending a carrier but it didn't arrive in time, hopefully she would be on station soon.

Peninsula of Gallipoli, Turkey. Morning of May 2nd, 1940.
Selâniki grimaced as he watched two 155mm Howitzers get totally destroyed by return fire. He and his men just held their positions as there really was nothing else they could do as shells impacted all around them. He just hoped his infantry was up to the task of holding off the enemy.....

HMAS Australia
Captain Harolds orded the cannons of the HMAS Australia to fire on the enemy fortress again. The Australian ships were still under Artillery fire, but it had eased up noticeably, still not enough to attempt a landing. The Captain had hoped that his ship's Artillery had managed to get a better bearing of where they were shooting, the bombardment couldn't last all day.
"Captain, I got word from Alexandria!" It was the young radio operator, he was an annoying young Sub-Lieutenant, but was still a promising young officer.
"Do tell Lieutenant, I swear it better be good news." Jack snatched the letter from the young officer, read it and a thin smiled went across his face. "Looks like the Royal Navy back up force will be arriving in an hour, about bloody time too."
"Does it say what they're sending?"
"Afraid not, I imagine it's the HMS Glorious and possibly another Cruiser Squadron."
"We'll be in good company then."

Selâniki turned to his aide as he watched the bombardment. "Abdullah, have our guns stop their firing. They are to save their shells for when they land. That's when we will give them the beating they deserve."
"Yes General. I hope we hold them here today..."
Selâniki just nodded as he watched a pair of soldiers carry back a fallen comrade from another destroyed 155mm Howitzer.

Sulva Bay
Captain Jack Owen was tense as his Landing Ship approached the Sulva Bay Area. The landing had been ordered as soon as the Turkish Artillery ceased to fire. Of course it was doubtfull that the Turkish Artillery had been destroyed, the moment the flottilla of landing ships carrying the Australian Invasion Force landed, they would come under heavy fire.
The Captain flipped open a map to check the landing area again, the 21st Infantry Brigade along with the 16th Infantry Batallion would take Sulva Bay. It would be 3 minutes before they hit the shore, the entire ship was now tense as the minutes passed.
Before long the whistle blew and it was time to disembark. Captain Owen wrapped his fingers around his Bren Gun and ran for the ramp off the ship. Cries of Triumph and Taunts in Australian accents filled the air, the invasion was finally on.

Peninsula of Gallipoli, Turkey. Morning of May 2nd, 1940.
*So it is on once more...* Selâniki thought as the landing craft hit the beaches.
"Order all guns to fire now! Hit the incoming waves with the Artillery and have our machine-guns open up on the troops exiting the landing craft!"
"Aye General, should we continue to hit the ships?"
"They mean nothing.. Hit the troops. If we can beat them here then they wont push further into our land."
"Aye sir." Abdullah said, quickly picking up his radio and sending out the orders.
All around the waiting Turkish soldiers came alive, opening up with their rifles, Machine-guns, mortars and Artillery pieces. Behind the beach the two batteries of twelve 155mm Howitzers of the 2nd Heavy Artillery Regiment opened up as well, along with the thirty-six 75mm Howitzers of the 7th Division's own Artillery. Along the beach the two deployed Regiments of the 7th Division poured fire into the landing aggressors. Also coming to life were the twelve deployed 37mm Anti-Tank Guns of the 3rd AT Battalion that were located in bunkers along the beach. It truely was hell for the landing troops...

HMAS Australia
Captain Harolds felt sick as the beach was pommelled by Artillery Fire, god only knew how many of his fellow Australians were killed in the hellish fire. He hoped that this would be the worst thing that happened during the whole invasion, though he expected that it wouldn't. Damn it all.
"Captain Harolds!" It was the bloody Radio Operator
"What is it Lieutenant?" Jack was decidedly irritated.
"Sir, we just got word from the Royal Navy again, its about the reenforcements!" He spoke so fast it was almost impossible to comprehend.
Jack was now very irritated that the Lieutenant was taking so long, it could only be bad news. "Spit it out Lieutenant!"
"Sir, the Royal Navy has sent us the HMS Glorious, she will be arriving with in aircraft Range in Two hours. They also send us the First Battle Squadron which will arrive in One hour along with the Third Cruiser Squadron."
Jack took the paper from the Lieutenant and glared at it. "Thank God! Let us get to work then shall we?"

Peninsula of Gallipoli, Turkey. Morning of May 2nd, 1940.
The shells rained down the artillery of the Turkish artillery and knocked out a couple of guns. Selâniki looked over at his radio operator and spoke. "Have the Fortress open fire again, and hit those ships, and have the 4th Artillery shift a battery to hit them as well. Everything else keep hitting the infantry."
"Aye General."
It was still way to early to call in the reserve Regiment though Selâniki did consider calling for more troops from the 46th Division in Kilitbahir. Along the beach his Infantry continued to throw all they had at the invaders, with every weapon able firing. Luckily the Turks had had years to fortify the area and now those years of work were bringing fruit. Selâniki just hoped it would be enough to hold the beach...

Jack Harolds swore as the HMAS Vampire took a second hit. The Royal Australian Naval Force was over stressed. They had to provide a counter battery against the Gallipoli Fortress and the guns of the Infantry Division that was shelling the troops.

"Sir the Artillery got another hit on one of the Destroyers!" Abdullah said.
"Good, have all guns shift to hit here. Lets see if we can at least sink one ship."
"Aye sir."
"General, we have identified the invaders. They are Australian." an aide said.
Selâniki blinked and a scowl was seen on his face. "We hold these bastards here. I want a Regiment brought up from the 46th Division now, and also bring up more guns from the reserve we must hold here. Send in the reserve Regiment now as well."
"Aye sir!"
Selâniki continued to watch the fight, hatred steaming from him. *They will be pushed back once more as I will not let them take us down.*

The bridge crew of the HMAS Australia cheered as the outline of three Royal Navy Battleships finally arrived at their positions. Having Already recieved the firing coordinates from the Australia, the Battleships opened fire with their main Battries. Gallipoli Fortress was going to be in for one hell of a barrage.
The HMAS Vampire took another hit and began to develop a heavy list, her Captain made the decision to Abandon ship and head towards the other Commonwealth ships.

Peninsula of Gallipoli, Turkey. Morning of May 2nd, 1940.
The Fortress guns were silenced by the 16'inchers of the British battleline, but it wasn't completely out of the fight as now it's crews began manning the fortress's machine-guns and began firing onto the beach. The Aussies were starting to breach the Turkish lines when the Three Regiment of the 7th Division came into the line and helped repel the attack. Artillery continued to fire in support of the Infantry and crews cheered when they saw the Vampire to list heavily. The gunners shifted their targets to the Vandetta, trying to knock out that Destroyer as well. Also arriving were th third and fourth batteries of the 3rd AT Battalion who quickly began firing down onto the beach. Also news came in that the 46th Division had dispatched help and that they were moving in to assist and would arrive in an hour.
