Kremlin Wall Perimiter
May 2nd, 1940

Captain Ivan Ginovef's report that a sniper had shot the General Secretary was hardly a surprise, as it appeared that elements from Army District West were closing in on the Kremlin, juding by their unit markings. The sniper, who had managed to get up into Spasskaya and managed to snipe the General Secretary (which was an amazing feat in itself) had been dealt with. Now the 41st Rifle Corps had pulled back into the Kremlin Wall Perimiter, as had the 51st Tank Regiment. Some of the artillery units were also setting up.
General Ivan Tyulenev, head of the Moscow Military District and loyal to General Secretary Puskov, frowned as the extent of the attack was coming in to him. His forces had confirmed that the 14th Motor-Rifles Corps was closing in on them. With no air support, they had no leverage on the attackers, except to use the Kremlin walls to their advantage. However, according to reports, the 214th Airborne Rifles would be dropping in to support them, but they wouldnt be in for another hour. He had to hold out until then.
ORBAT:
-41st Rifle Corps-ESTABLISHING DEFENSIVE POSITIONS WITHIN KREMLIN WALL
--118th Infantry Division
--235th Infantry Division
-275th Artillery Regiment - Deploying within Kremlin Wall
-396th Artillery Regiment - Moving to deploy
-649th Artillery Regiment - Deploying within Kremlin Wall
-403rd Heavy Artillery Regiment - Moving to deploy
