Cizre, Turkey
May 4th, 1940, 0600 Hours
General Oberst Erich von Manstein stood next to General Lieutenant Erwin Rommel and smiled. "They look ready, Erwin."
Rommel returned the smiled and nodded. "Indeed they do and these new tanks will make things a lot easier, though I am still worried about the limited amount of units we have to use."
"I know but it can't be helped. You will have support of the Luftwaffe though, they have moved more elements to Syria to assist us." Erich said.
"Very good. Well General I guess we should get this show on the road." Erwin turned and nodded to his aide. "Fire."
A moment later the guns of the German Africa Korps and XXXXIX Mountain Korps lite up the morning sky as they began their pre-bombardment of the Turkish positions. Five minutes later the Six hundred and forty-eight tanks of the Africa Korps rolled forward, being followed by the Infantry of the Korps, it truly was a sight to be seen. Overhead bombers of Luftwaffe II began hitting the Turkish positions further in the rear, making it harder for them to reinforce the front lines. Also fighters moved about the front, making an effort to keep the Turkish Air force at bay.
