German-Netherlands Border; along the Meuse River,
June 3rd 1940. 0600 AM
The border between Germany and the Netherlands had been a strained affair every since Belgium had folded and been "taken" over by Netherlands. For months the German people had been screaming for action to avenge the "Travesty of Belgium" and today they were finally going to get it.
In the early morning mist hundreds of engines could be heard as six Panzer and six Mechanized Divisions moved up to the front. Ahead of them the III Korps of the 18th Armee quickly moved across the large river using small rafts and landing craft that had been built just for this operation. Covering the operation were 246 105mm and 150mm Howitzers/Guns, throwing down one hell of a covering fire on the Netherlands side of the bank. In the air, hundreds of Ju-87Bs dived down to hit what able targets they could as more of their number hit forces behind the line. Also in the air where hundreds of top of the line German Fighters, taking to the skies to keep the ground troops safe. The crossing points where the towns of Andennes, Huy, Engis and Amay with the 23rd, 50th, 82nd and 84th Infantry Divisions hitting each respectively.

German-Netherlands Border; Before Liege, Belgium,
June 3rd 1940. 0600 AM
The stillness of the morning was broken when hundreds of gun opened up on the Netherlands positions. Over Five hundred artillery pieces opened up covering the advancing infantry of the V and XXX Korps of the German 2nd Armee. The V Korps was moving to the northwest of Liege, while the XXX Korps moved to the southeast of the city. In the middle the XXXII Korps advanced slowly forward against the main defenses in front of the city. Assisting them where the bombers and fighters of Luftflotte 4.

German-Netherlands Border; Oostende Corridor, Germany,
June 3rd 1940. 0600 AM
General Leo Freiherr Geyr von Schweppenburg smiled as his Panzer Korps pushed across the small border between Germany and the Netherlands, with over four hundred Panther Tanks. Also leading with him were the 48 Panzer VI Tiger Tanks of the 503rd Heavy Panzer Battalion. His first objective was the town of Gent, while the Infantry of the 4th Armee marched along his flanks. As he stood their watching his advance elements, he could hear the artillery bombardment hitting the town of Brugge, where the II Korps was operating. He looked above him as Me-109Ts flew overhead, flying off the five Carriers of the German Kriegsmarine that were supporting the 4th Armee and smiled. Yes, today Germany's might would be shown once more.
