Alain Mannette smiled as he walked up the steps of the inconspicuous government building in Luxembourg City. He was running late, his normal plane had engine problems and he ended up flying in his personal Taifun. The meeting wasn't going to be the most well organized, Alain fumbled with a briefcase as he walked through the door, was eventually shown into the meeting room.
"Bonjour Herr Von Kruger."

Peter was in his uniform for the meeting, feeling far more conferable then when he as in Civilian clothes. In the distance the rumble of Artillery could be heard as German guns pounded the Netherlands, and Peter couldn't help but smile at that. The door then opened and the Prime Minister of France was shown in. Peter got up slowly and nodded to Alain. "Hello Alain. How are you this day?"

Alain frowned at the sound of distant artillery in the backround. He had grown up around the noise during the last war, weither it was the sound it's self or Peter's grin, he was on edge. "I'm well. I have to ask, why is there Artillery firing somwhere?" Normally he would shrug it off as a drill, but the smile on the German's face told him that it wasn't.

Peter sighed. "I am afraid my people have demanded we take care of the Netherlands and thus today they will get what they wish. At 5:45 this morning I sent a Declaration of War to the Netherlands and at 6:00 AM we crossed the Netherlands border on many fronts. I am afraid when your people are chanting for things you can not very well ignore them.."

Alain sat down, recovering from minor shock. While Alain himself had felt that the Netherlands got away free, it was a little upsetting that he decided to declare unequivical war against a country without warning. It was actions like this that Alain had worked hard to prevent and now he was helpless to prevent it.
He coughed politely, "Well that settles my questions about the Netherlands." Alain began to feel like he was dealing with a man who would quite literally declare war on France if his people asked for it and knowing the Germans they might just do that.
"I suppose it's on to the trade agreement then?"

"I know it is not the best situation Alain, but you have to realize that most of my people are still under the belief that Germany is greater then all. The propaganda that the Nazi's put on my people is far worse then you have probably heard. And I don't plan on staying in the Netherlands. I plan on taking down the current Government and replacing them with member of the Royal Family, if there are any still alive..."
Peter paused and sighed. "Those are our reasons for the invasion.. now what is this trade agreement you wish?"

Alain only half belived what Peter was telling him, everyone in France belived they lived in the best country and France wasn't declaring War on anyone based on that belief. Still he did admire the German Military and that admiration is why he was here.
"Peter, as you know, the French military has been run poorly for the last twenty years, we are barely able to defend our own territory without asking for help from other countries, and there is no reason for Germans, Americans, and English to die for our on internal disputes. For our own saftey we need to obtain military equipment from your fine country, the BF109 fighters you contributed are of a great help, but once again we need German military equipment, this time tanks. I have no need to take your first rate equipment from you, all I ask is for some of the older model of Panzer, some of the IIIs. In return we will provide more Oil as it's, I'm afraid, all we have to offer."

Peter paused for a moment, thinking long and hard. For the past month his Generals had been telling him not to send equipment to other countries unless they were official Allies of Germany. They were still sore over him giving France the Bf-109s and them changing them and not giving anything back to Germany in return. Thus Peter phrased his next choice of words carefully. "And if you change designs on them would you be willing to share with Germany? Or are you going to keep them to yourselves?. I am afraid my people are not happy with what we are hearing about the Me-109s I gave you. I am just concerned for my people Alain, and I know you are over yours as well."

"I would have shared the 109 designs with you but I felt, and still feel that it wasn't my place to give away England's top aircraft engine. As for the tanks, I don't see why not, we plan to use primarily French armaments for ease of manufacturing and costs." The Dewoitine D.600 Faucon, as the 109s were now being called, were a stroke of brilliance on the part of Dewoitine, and the new Merlin Engines were of a tremendous help to the French Airforce, hopefully the tanks would do the same for the Armee de Terre.

Peter nodded and smiled. "As long as you share them then I have no problems allowing you to buy them. I guess we should come up with a good negotiable price. In fact I do believe we can construct the hulls for you but with out the guns to help make things easier."

Alain smiled politely, "Thank you very much Misseur. You name the price and I'll try my best to match it. And thank you very much for the Hulls, saves money for everyone." He took out a cigarette, lit it, breathed in, out and started again.
"I will make sure that our Department of Defence sends you the data and plans from the initial test models and a prototype if it's at all possible."

Peter nodded. "Well how about 10,000,000 for 500 of our Model III Panzers? I think that should supply you for awhile and help you along your way. At the moment things aren't to bad on our side of things with Panzers, as we have a very interesting design in the works. Oh and Alaine, I must know. Do you plan on taking action in the Netherlands as well?"

Alain frowned, "In the interest of good will, I will send some forces to assist your assault on the Netherlands." Alain didn't want to instigate a war with the Netherlands, however, now he would get a prime chance at seizing more territory. "Your deal on the Panzers is also accepted."
The Corsican coughed again and smiled "Now I belive that is all that we have on the agenda, you will have to excuse me, I have to be in England this evening for a meeting, is there anything you would like to add?"

Peter got up and shook his head. "No my friend I do believe that is all. I will have my Ambassador set up the account for the money to be transfered. I can have the tanks delivered in three or four days time, once the money arrives. I do help things go well for you and your countrymen and have a safe trip to England."
