The US Asiatic Fleet's headquarters were in a frantic state. Both the US Pacific and Asiatic Fleet were put on Alert Status. The Germans were in the process of attacking Sumatra and the Japanese were not too pleased about it. It seemed if now war was inevitable. Admiral Hart looked over his map of the South Pacific, looking over the current situation. Admiral Kimmel was sending his carriers out on patrol after recieving word of the Alert. The Lexington and Saratoga were enroute to the South East, while the USS Enterprise patrolled the Northern Pacific around Midway. The Newly commissioned USS Hornet had been diverted from her sakedown to head towards Wake Island. It also looked as if the USS Arizona, USS Nevada, and USS Pennsylvania were sent to patrol the South Pacific with several Cruisers and destroyers.
Hart now had to make up his mind. The Asiatic Fleet wasn't much of a force, just consisting of a few Destroyer and PT Boat Squadrons. His real trump card were the Submarines. A few Submarines would be sent to Sumatra to see what the Jerries were up to, just a simple monitoring Operation. A few more would be sent to see what the Japs were up to. The Submarine Operations would be the most Dangerous, they could easily be mistaken for an enemy target, and sunk, their crews would know this, however it was entirely nessicarry.
The Admiral looked down at his watch, he had a meeting with MacAurthur in an hour concerning the Army and AAF operations around the Philippines.
